1A Investments

The tax revenues from successfully passing Ballot Measure 1A would help begin to address the county’s essential needs – especially in roads, traffic improvements, housing solutions, and public safety. The estimated $74 million would go a long way towards investments in the following areas that have been prioritized by county residents.

Public Works

  • Improved roads, traffic congestion, and pedestrian safety projects
  • Address the $316.6 million in deferred maintenance and needs
  • Forty percent of roadways maintained are rated as “poor” or “very poor” condition
  • Snow removal routes and pothole repair would be maintained or improved

Sheriff's Office

  • Improved crime prevention and emergency response
  • Continued 24/7 neighborhood patrol coverage of county areas
  • Co-responders who help people in mental health crisis would be sustained
  • Full-time school resource officer positions would be maintained at current levels

Community and Human Services

  • Housing support solutions for vulnerable children, families, and older adults
  • Child abuse and neglect protective services
  • Community service programming to reduce jail sentencing
  • Homeless prevention and response
  • Mental health services
